Getting Dressed With Alexis Badiyi

New York-based stylist, Alexis Badiyi walks us through five summer looks. Play and pair with these super soft, transitional pieces.

Hello, summer. You transient season, you. Meant for the lightest, softest pieces in your wardrobe, summer is the time to play and accessorize, travel and roam. It’s the time to reach for easy transitional pieces for those days when a bodega run turns into a lunch date, and the lunch date turns into a night out with friends. It’s the season of one thing leading to another, and your wardrobe should be just as flexible, too.

So it’s no wonder why we teamed up with Alexis Badiyi, super chic New York-based stylist and queen of pairing together easy, transitional outfits. Ahead, Alexis walks us through five super soft, transitional looks for no matter where you may land this summer.

Look 1 : To Sleep

The type of look you want to live in. The Gisele Relaxed PJ is a dream to wear with its styling versatility and barely-there feeling. You could push the limit and style with a bralette and jeans, or cozy up in the set to catch those siesta ZZZ’s.

Look 2: On The Way Out

For those days where one thing leads to another. Slip into the washable silk slip dress, toss on a cardigan, add some drama to the ears, and ease into your most walkable slides. You’re ready for window shopping, a dinner date, and anywhere else the day may take you.

Look 3: Weekend Getaway

A breezy look begging to be whisked away. The 100% linen short set is lightweight, airy, and easy to style with its versatile buttons and adjustable belt. Finish the look with chic accessories, some trusty sunnies, and a weekender bag. Consider yourself vacay-ready.

Look 4: A Slow Morning

When it’s time for some self-care. Mix and match the linen shorts with the Naya bralette and linen robe to layer for a cozy yet sexy feel. Pairs well with a cup of coffee and a good, slow read.

Look 5: Summer In The City

For those steamy, sunny days when you don’t feel like getting dressed. Pair the Pima bralette in fudge with vintage linen trousers, a playful belt, and a pop of orange accessories. Easy enough for an errand run, chic enough for an aperitivo.

“During the summer, I’m rarely seen fully clothed.
An easy, light look is such a good go-to for me.”
