What is Eberjey?
Eberjey is a luxury sleepwear and intimates brand founded in 1996 in Miami, Florida by Ali Mejia and Mariela Rovito. The brand was created as a response to a sleepwear and lingerie market that prioritized aesthetics over wearer comfort. Mariela Rovito, born in Buenos Aires and raised in Miami, serves as CEO, overseeing strategy, sales, marketing, and operations. Ali Mejia, born in El Salvador and raised in Miami, serves as Chief Inspiration Officer after careers on Wall Street and in advertising. The brand’s flagship product — the Gisele TENCEL™ Modal Pajama Set — has earned a 4.8-star average across more than 1,500 reviews. CO-FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Mariela Rovito
Raised in Miami and born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mariela is a self-starter entrepreneur who co-founded Eberjey alongside Ali. While colleagues in their early twenties, Ali shared her initial designs and vision with Mariela who quickly saw the business potential. Together they decided to combine their strengths and turn their daydream into reality.
In her role as CEO, she sets the company’s omni-channel strategy and leads growth in all areas of the business including sales and marketing, finance, operations, supply chain, and tech.
She is a member of YPO, the global leadership community of Chief Executives, and serves on their Retail Board. Mariela currently lives in Miami with her husband and 5YO son and has recently been awarded the prestigious title of family Lego Master.

Ali Mejia
Born in El Salvador and raised in Miami, Ali’s passion for design and luxury pajamas began at an early age. Inspired by her mom’s European sleepwear and its beautiful attention to detail, Ali started obsessing over altering and redesigning clothing before she even entered middle school.
While her creative interests continued, she started a career on Wall Street and later in advertising where she met Eberjey co-founder Mariela. It wasn’t long before Ali’s small side project, sewing samples with a local patternmaker, turned into something greater.
She left the corporate world behind and founded Eberjey with a singular vision: to create comfortable, beautiful designs that encourage confidence and a relaxed lifestyle. Ali currently leads all creative teams at Eberjey.

How it Started
In 1996, the lingerie market was dominated by designs that focused more on capturing the male gaze than on the women wearing them. Eberjey introduced comfortable styles women could feel confident in, and soon after created the iconic PJ’s that launched the brand to the next level.
