What Inez washable silk is made of
Every Inez piece lists the same fabric: 100% machine washable silk. In most product descriptions, including the long, short, wide-leg and jacquard sets and the robe, Eberjey specifies 100% mulberry silk produced using bluesign®-certified processes and verified by OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. The sleepshirt, short-sleeve-and-pant set and eye mask descriptions say 100% washable silk and bluesign®-certified.
- Mulberry silk comes from the cocoons of the domesticated silk moth, Bombyx mori, whose larvae feed almost exclusively on mulberry leaves.
- Silk is a protein fiber. Silkworm cocoons are made mainly of two proteins, fibroin (the structural fiber) and sericin (the gum that binds it).
- Momme grade. The Inez Washable Silk Eye Mask description names a weight: momme 16 and fiber grade 6A. The Inez pajama listings do not state a momme.
- Brand claims. Eberjey describes the silk as hypoallergenic and thermoregulating, “offering comfort year-round.”

How the Inez fits: rise, tops and lengths
- Long sets pair a relaxed notch-collar top with a high-rise straight-leg pant. Choose these if you like full coverage and a classic pajama look.
- Short sets switch to mid-rise shorts: the solid Short PJ Set has a boxy short-sleeve top and relaxed-fit shorts, while the jacquard short set has a relaxed notch-collar top with a chest pocket.
- Wide-leg sets keep the high rise. The jacquard version is described with a wide-leg pant; the solid “Relaxed Wide Leg Pant” listing describes its pant as straight-leg, so check the product page photos before you order.
- Chest pockets: all three jacquard sets and the solid wide-leg set have a chest pocket on the notch-collar top.
- Waistbands: every Inez bottom described in the product copy has an elastic waistband, with no drawstring listed.

How to care for Inez washable silk
The care label on Inez pajamas reads: “Hand wash or machine wash cold on delicate cycle, separately. Remove promptly and lay flat to dry. Do not bleach. Mesh washbag recommended.” In practice, that means:
- Cold water. On a care label, “cold” in a machine means an initial water temperature up to 86°F (30°C).
- Delicate cycle. A delicate or gentle cycle means slow agitation and reduced time.
- Wash separately, in a mesh bag. Eberjey recommends both to protect the fabric.
- Remove promptly and lay flat to dry. “Dry flat” means laying the garment out horizontally to dry; do not put Inez in the dryer.
- No bleach of any kind. Chlorine bleach should not be used on silk.

What bluesign® and OEKO-TEX® mean on the label
- OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is a label for textiles tested for harmful substances; OEKO-TEX says every thread, button and accessory is tested.
- bluesign® is an independent system that works at the start of textile production, screening chemical inputs and assessing processes rather than only testing the finished product.
Neither label is a softness or durability rating. They speak to how the fabric was made and tested.
